Congenital Heart Disease
Post congenital heart surgery arrhythmias
| Patients who have surgical correction of congenital heart disease may develop arrhythmias later on in life.

Bicuspid aortic valve
| The aortic valve has 2 instead of 3 leaflets. May be associated with aortic root aneurysm or aortic stenosis later on.

Mitral valve prolapse
| Defect of the valve apparatus, resulting in mild regurgitation usually. Infrequently severe mitral regurgitation may occur and will need surgical repair.

Ventricular septal defects
| Ventricular septal defects are congenital defects connecting the right and left ventricle . If large can lead to heart failure.

Atrial septal defects
| Atrial septal defects are small defects result in a residual connection between the left and right atrium. Not infrequently detected incidentally. Can result in atrial arrhythmias or heart failure later on.
