Myocarditis & Pericardial Disease

Pericardial Cyst
Sac-like pocket of membranous tissue that contains fluid that found on pericardium. Management and treatment will depend on the symptom and the size of the pericardial cyst.
Pericardial Effusion
A collection of extra fluid in the sac around the heart. If too much fluid builds up, it can exert significant pressure on the heart which prevent the heart from pumping normally.
Pericarditis
Inflammation of the pericardium which is the sac surrounds of the heart. Common symptom is chest pain, usually worsened when taking a deep breath. Complications are uncommon but can be serious.
Myocarditis
Inflammation of the heart muscle which is commonly due to virus infection and less commonly due to auto-immune disease. Depending on the cause and severity, symptoms and possible problems can range from no symptoms at all, to life-threatening heart failure.
